Tuesdays are becoming one of my favorite days because I can sleep as much as I want after my first class. It allows me catch up and get ahead (if possible) on my sleep and I wouldn't trade it for the world!
In my class today, we found out that we are supposed to have read up to chapter 6 by now and we were supposed to be having class discussion about it. Luckily for me, there were only 2 people who had actually read the book, so the discussion was pushed back a class period. Thankfully because I had not even purchased the book yet!
After eating lunch, Michael and I met up to go around town trying to find this book for our Variedades class. We went to two librerias (bookstores) in search of it, but neither store had every heard of the book before. We decided to just bite the bullet and buy the book in the University Bookstore because we know that they have it there. We also went to El Corte Ingles and Michael bought a few things. It was nice to get out of the house and wander the streets a bit. I decided I was going to go up to the bookstore on the next day because I was already close to home and I didn't feel like walking up there, so Michael and I went our separate ways.
When I got home, Rachael was leaving for class so I took the opportunity to do some homework. I accomplished a lot because I was alone and it was quite. That's my productive hour of the day.
Later in the evening, I met up with Leah and Maggie to go to tapas for the photo contest SOL is having. We each could submit 2 photos of Granada, and they would be judged, and whoever won got a prize! The other perk was if you submitted a photo, you could go to tapas for free! How about that!
We ordered our drinks and was served our tapas. It was a potato-egg salad mixture with cheese slices surrounding the outside of the plate, served with slices of bread. It was all really good and reminded me a bit of American food because of the potato salad.
The winners were announced from the photo contest, and there was tie. Michael and Leah both submitted awesome shots of Granada! So they are sharing the prize of a free dinner for 2!
Rachael and I had told Mila that we were not going to be home for dinner because of the tapas, but we were not full from what we had eaten for tapas, so we decided to wander to find a restaurant. We came across one that sounded appetizing and reasonably priced and went inside. We were the only ones who sat inside, everyone else was outside, but at that point, we didn't care because we were cold!
I ordered spaghetti carbonara (not knowing what it was) and Rachael ordered chicken wings with a honey sauce and fries. Both the dishes were spectacular and hit the spot!
On our walk home, we passed by a bunch of bags of garbage. They pick up garbage in the middle of the night there because of how busy the roads are during the day. We passed one store that had bags upon bags of hangers out in the trash. It was indescribable why they were all going to be thrown away, and I needed some at home, so I took 4! Hey, it's free, perfectly good hangers! Upon returning home, I had to hide the hangers in my jacket from Mila so she wouldn't question why I had them. I snuck in the house without questions and soon hit the sack because it was around 11 when we got home.
What a day, a long day indeed!
** Sorry for lacking on the pictures. I haven't been in the photo mood lately, but I'm sure that will change soon! **
