Happy April Fool's Day!
I won't be playing any tricks during the blog so you can let your guard down :)
It's pretty weird that it is already April!
Today was a slow day because it was back at it for school. Nothing that I wanted to be doing, that's for sure.
In my first class, Grammar, we got our exams back and I got a 7.6 out of 10, which is good for Spain standards. Passing is a 5 and most people get between a 7 and an 8. The 7.6 should transfer back to Winona as an A, if it was my final grade. We then learned about commands in class.
In my second class, Islamic Culture, I was worried that I was going to have to take my exam today because I didn't take it with the rest of the class before Semana Santa. There was another girl who also had to take the exam and she said that our professor had told her that she was going to have to take it on the Monday when we come back so I was freaking out because I had not studied since before Semana Santa. Luckily for me, the exam would be taken on Wednesday and today was just another lecture day.
When I got home I blogged some more before and a little after lunch and then I was headed back to the CLM. In my next class, POE, we just did worksheets, nothing special. She said that on Wednesday that we would be debating again though and that we should be ready for it.
Between my classes I blogged a little more (so much to catch up on) and then hung out with Rachael and Sam when they arrived, early! We were looking at the board for the soccer games and eyeing up our opponents. Our game is going to be on Wednesday!
In my last class of the day, Spanish Civilization and Culture, we learned about different customs and culture shock. For example we did an activity where we were assigned a personality of people from different regions of Spain, and we had to act like them. Mine was to be constantly touching the person I was talking to and it was super awkward because that is not something that we do in America.
During class I asked Sam if he was going to come to Barcelona with us and he said he cannot because his wallet is already upset with him. So now it is down to 3 people coming to Barca!
After class Rachael and I walked home and hung out and ate dinner. I then blogged some more and we began looking at hostels in Barcelona for three people. It is such an odd number to be traveling with (ha, no pun intended) and it was causing us a little bit of difficulty. We did not book yet because we all couldn't come to a consensus of what hotel we wanted. Soon enough we went to bed.
Sometime during the day today I also talked with my dad to make sure everything went okay with them traveling and he said the only issue was with the taxi in Granada. Taxis to the airport are only supposed to be 22 (Fare 1 - daytime and not weekends) or 25 (Fare 2 - nights/early mornings and weekends) euros. This taxi driver's fare ticker was over 30 euros! I warned him about them overcharging them the night before, so he knew to just walk away. He said as they were walking away the driver was yelling at them in Spanish but that they didn't know what he was saying... probably for the better!
It was nice to be back in my routine that I usually have but it sucked to be back in class and doing work after such a nice break.
