Partido de Futbol

Today was the day that I was dreading ever since I started my Islamic Culture class, the midterm exam!

I went to school early in hopes of studying but instead I found people that I knew and talked with them. I then went to grammar class and learned more about random things and the time was here! The midterm! Myself and 2 other girls were taken to the teacher's lounge to take the exam. It was cool to be in there and there was even winding staircases to get to the room that we were in.

The exam started off easy and I knew the first 4.5 questions right off the bat. Then the trouble set in and I was like Oh SHOOOOT! I remember learning this but I don't remember the concept well enough to explain it. There was also a question or two that I had no idea what it was asking, so I made it up. Hopefully I did good on the questions that I felt confident in and that it will pull my grade up. When I got done with the test I returned to class to listen to the rest of the lecture and then class was over.

I went home and of course, you guessed it, blogged some more. Today I finished all the blogging that involved my parents and all I had left to do was finish up this past week. I ate lunch and then returned to school for my next two classes.

In my POE class we had a debate like setup for today. We discussed topics that would never be mentioned in a classroom in the United States, such as abortion, legalization of drugs, mix between church and state and gun control. It is definitely a different world over here.

After my class I went to the computer lab and quickly checked my Facebook. Rachael had messaged me saying that Ruth was now going to come with us to Barcelona. But she was going to have to find her own hostel to stay in because we had already booked ours. I then met Rachael and the Isabel and Christopher Columbus statue to go to a store of wooden boxes. These are the same type of boxes that my dad bought.

When we were done running that errand we returned to school and hung out and talked with Evan, another person from Winona. Then it was class time. In my Spanish Civilization and Culture class we learned about the customs of Spain regarding restaurants and having people over and phone conversations. All of this is very interesting and important to know so I am glad that I am finally learning it all!

After class Rachael, Sam and I walked to the University of Granada sports complex because tonight we had a soccer game! (partido de futbol). We arrived there about 30 minutes early so we just hung out and warmed up a little bit. We would be playing on handball courts, aka cement, and smaller fields and goals. Eventually the team showed up and we got the game started. It wasn't raining when the kickoff happened but sooner than later it began to pour. The game went on! We were slipping and sliding everywhere and there was even mud outlining the court. It was a little dangerous and we were all very cautious not to get hurt. We ended up winning 5-1. Go Team!

Team photo to come soon! :)

Rachael and I then walked home from there to our bocadillos that Mila had prepared for us. We then washed up because we stunk from the sweat and rain, and then called it a night.
